A Round Table Discussion Promoting Climate Smart Agriculture for a Resilient and Food Secure Myanmar

This event will bring you up to date on the latest programs and research on climate smart agriculture. It will be facilitated by experts and practitioners from the International Institute of Rural Reconstruction (IIRR), International Center for Tropical Agriculture (CIAT), Climate Change Agriculture and Food Security (CCAFS), International Rice Research Institute (IRRI), International Crops Research Institute for Semi-Arid Tropics (ICRISAT), Yezzin Agricultural Technology, and GoUM Ministry of Agriculture. Dialogues will be on the following themes:

· Climate change impacts in Myanmar and the Myanmar strategy on climate resilient agriculture

· Climate change issues in agriculture and considerations in Myanmar

· Demystifying climate smart agriculture for small holders in Asia

· Climate smart agriculture options in rice-based agriculture systems in Myanmar

· The role of grains, legumes and pulses in nutrition sensitive agriculture

· The role of root and tuber crops in climate resilient livelihoods

· Fostering farmer-led innovations development and social learning to scale out climate smart agriculture

· Linking climate smart agriculture to nutrition and food security programs
